Autonomous delivery service: future or reality?

delivery
Uber plans to launch robots on the streets of Tokyo at the end of March, which will be the first international campaign to introduce an autonomous delivery service. The six-wheeled courier robots were created by Cartken, an artificial intelligence company based in Oakland, under the supervision of Mitsubishi Electric.

The robots are already delivering goods offered by several companies in the Dayland neighborhood of Miami-Dade County, and the manufacturers plan to expand their operations to larger areas of the city and some other markets, including Tokyo.

In fact, Uber has already had experience in launching autonomous vehicles with the intention of eventually replacing all human drivers, but the program was closed after a woman died under the wheels of one of the company’s cars in 2017. So we can only hope that this time they will achieve much more positive results.
